“Die Politur” (the polishing) is a performance-based film work in which a human being is polished by beings of light.

The piece explores the concept of polishing and its effects on materials: What kinds of transformations occur during the act of polishing, and how does the process influence perception?

The work raises questions about what happens during and after a polish — particularly in relation to the human body. What occurs when polishing is taken to an extreme, to the point of erasure and unrecognizability? The Polishing examines this threshold between visibility and dissolution, between surface, body, and light.
