Gloss is both surface and depth, promise and deception.
In my light and media works, I investigate the hard specular highlight as both a visual disturbance and a field of projection — a medial phenomenon oscillating between visibility and blindness, perception and reflection.

What begins as a fleeting optical event becomes a conceptual threshold: a point where perception fails and new forms of seeing emerge. Within this tension, light ceases to be mere illumination and becomes an active force that destabilizes representation.

The works gathered here trace gloss in its multiple appearances — as memory, as reflection, as digital illusion. Each piece explores how the act of seeing is shaped by light’s excess and how this excess reveals the fragility of visual systems, from the eye to the algorithm.

Seen through the perspectives of a child, a dazzled observer, a prisoner, and a watching, reflective presence, these works unfold as a study of perception under pressure — where light becomes both the agent of revelation and the cause of its own collapse.
